During November and December 2020 we carried out an over-roofing to an old roof in Hersham, Surrey. The roof covered a number of different small industrial and commercial units.
The old roof consisted of Big Six profiled moss covered sheeting and glazing which were both leaking. To solve the problem, we fitted an over-roofing system and replaced the eaves gutters.
Spacer purlins were fitted over the old roof to provide a space for the insulation and to support the new roof sheets.
New 200mm thickness fibreglass insulation was laid over the original roof to help regulate the temperature within the building.
New single skin plastisol coated steel sheeting was laid and secured using new precision-formed fixings.
The roof was finished off with new purpose manufactured contrasting coloured flashings.
We removed the old eaves guttering and fitted new steel supporting flashings and then fitted new half round PVC gutters to the outside. In addition, new down-pipes were fitted which discharged the water into the existing drains.
The wall where it joined the higher level flat roof was also covered with new flashings.
